Pelvic Floor Consortium Meeting

Saturday, October 13, 2018
10:30 am – 5:00 pm

Hosted by the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and AUGS, the goal of this meeting is to arrive at a consensus recommendation as to which patient reporting questionnaires, instruments, or scales should be used to quantify common pelvic floor disorders:

  1. Fecal incontinence
  2. Urinary incontinence
  3. Constipation
  4. Bladder emptying dysfunction
  5. Sexual dysfunction in men
  6. Sexual dysfunction in women

By adopting standard measures across multiple disciplines, we hope to facilitate the collaborative pooling of data in meta-analyses and allow more effective comparison of results. This is precisely the kind of multidisciplinary effort – involving input from multiple subspecialists – that the Consortium was created to do. We hope that you will attend to provide your input on which instruments we should use consistently going forward. Please consider volunteering for one of our working groups!

If you plan to attend or if you would like to be placed in a working group, please complete the online registration form.

The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) established the Pelvic Floor Disorders Consortium to provide an inclusive, collaborative forum with representatives in disciplines involved in the management of people with diseases of the pelvic floor. Its purpose is a community focused on education, research, and quality initiatives pertaining to the treatment of pelvic floor disorders. For more information and to apply for Consortium membership, please visit the Pelvic Floor Disorders Consortium web page.
